๐ Relaxed start โ no queue๐ฏ Changdeokgung walk-in๐ฎ T1 day for James๐ Early-ish night โ DMZ
๐ The relaxed version
Secret Garden dropped after last night's late one โ so no early queue. Changdeokgung's main grounds are general admission (โฉ3,000), walk in whenever. James sits out the palace morning and meets you at Gwangjang lunch (~13:15). Easy morning, then the gaming afternoon and Hongdae night as planned.

Culture morning sits tight in Jongno (north), then east to Seongsu, south to Gangnam for James's T1 dash, and west to Hongdae for the night. Tap a pin for its name.
Two map buttons on every stop: tap N for Naver (best for live transit in Korea โ pin โ ๋์ฐฉ Arrival โ ๋์ค๊ตํต transit), or G for Google Maps for walking and place info. Naver still wins for subway routing.
The Day
~10:00 ยท easy start
๐ Head out to Changdeokgung
No rush
No fixed slot today โ leave whenever you're moving. Lister & Lisette for the morning; James will meet you at lunch.
From voco Myeongdong: Line 4 โ Chungmuro (1 stop) โ transfer Line 3 โ Anguk Stn, Exit 3, ~5 min walk to the gate. Or taxi ~10 min (~โฉ7,000).
General admission, no timed ticket โ just walk in. The best-preserved of the grand palaces, built to follow the lie of the land rather than rigid symmetry. Highlights: the Injeongjeon throne hall and the quietly elegant Nakseonjae residential quarters with their own little garden. (The Secret Garden โ the separate guided bit โ is the part we've skipped.)
Closed Mondays โ Saturday is fine. Wander at your own pace, then drift toward Insadong.
Wander Insadong-gil โ galleries, traditional crafts, tea houses and the Ssamziegil spiral mall. Good for souvenirs, then drift east toward Gwangjang for lunch.
Seoul's great old food market, and your reconvene point with James. Sit at a stall for bindaetteok (mung-bean pancake), mayak gimbap, yukhoe and tteokbokki. Loud, elbow-to-elbow, brilliant. Cash, and point at what looks good.
๐ Tell James the north gate / main bindaetteok row, ~13:15โ13:30 โ WhatsApp him a firm time once you're out of the palace.
From Insadong: ~10โ12 min walk east, or Line 1 one stop Jongno 3-ga โ Jongno 5-ga.
The LCK home arena โ lobby is a free walk-in: big screens, a lobby PC bang and the merch shop. In the Gran Seoul building (not GS Tower), 33 Jong-no, by Jonggak Stn Exit 1.
James: glance at the LCK Summer Split schedule (lck.co.kr) โ a live fixture this week would be worth knowing about.
From Gwangjang: ~12โ15 min walk west, or Line 1 to Jonggak.
"Seoul's Brooklyn" โ converted warehouses, concept stores, flagship cafรฉs and pop-ups. Easy wandering for Lister & Lisette while James peels off for his T1 run. Daelim Changgo and the Seongsu cafรฉ lanes are the classic browse.
From Jongno: Line 1 โ City Hall, transfer Line 2 โ Seongsu Stn (~30 min). Or taxi ~20 min.
James's quick solo dash to the T1 flagship merch store on the Gangnam side. This is the shop โ not the same as tonight's T1 Base Camp PC bang in Hongdae. He gets both today.
Check opening hours in Naver before setting off, and agree a Hongdae reconvene time.
From Seongsu: Line 2 south to the Gangnam/Samseong side (~20โ30 min), direct.
Reconvene in Hongdae. James does T1 Base Camp (T1 esports' own branded PC bang) and Animate Hongdae (anime/manga megastore, AK& Mall 5F). Lister & Lisette take the Hongdae backstreets / Yeonnam-dong lanes โ buskers, boutiques and bars.
From Gangnam/Seongsu: Line 2 west to Hongik Univ Stn (the same green line loops the whole evening together).
The art-materials stop while James is on T1/Animate. Target: Mijello Mission Gold (Class), 15ml tubes โ the 24-colour set (code MWC-1524), with the 34/36 set as an upsize. Honey-based, vivid, cheaper here than abroad.
๐ 20 Hongik-ro 3-gil, Mapo-gu (Hongdae). Open till 21:00 ยท registered tax-refund shop (~10% VAT back โ bring passport).
๐ Protect tomorrow: Sunday's DMZ tour is a confirmed 07:30 start (meet Myeongdong Stn Exit 9). Reconvene for an earlier late dinner and head back rather than a deep Hongdae night โ future-you at 06:30 will be grateful.

Center Coffee / onion Seongsu โ design-led roasteries if you want a proper flat white between browsing.
