Today is now an easy afternoon: catch the 14:00 Changing of the Guard (we missed the 10:00), tour Gyeongbokgung, stroll Bukchon, then the ballgame. The Jongno block — Changdeokgung Secret Garden, Insadong, Gwangjang & LoL Park — has moved to Saturday morning (see the Sat 13 Jun plan). Less rushing, same highlights.

Friday LG games can sell — aim to be at the Jamsil box office by ~17:00 (90 min before first pitch). Rain hedge: Hanwha @ Kiwoom at Gocheok Sky Dome (indoor), same night.

With the late start, eat before the ceremony. Tosokchon's famous ginseng chicken soup is ~5 min from Gyeongbokgung — restorative and quick-moving despite the queue. (Or grab something in Myeongdong before you leave.)

From voco Myeongdong: Line 4 → Chungmuro (1 stop) → transfer Line 3 → Gyeongbokgung Stn, Exit 5 (~20 min). Or taxi ~10–15 min (~₩7,000).

🏯 Gyeongbokgung Palace

Seoul's grand main palace. Get to the Gwanghwamun gate by ~13:45 to claim a spot for the ceremony, then tour the grounds after. Open today (closed Tuesdays only).

Hanbok-clad visitors enter free if anyone fancies a rental nearby.

At Gwanghwamun gate, in the plaza before the ticket checkpoint — free to watch even without a palace ticket. This is the afternoon ceremony (10:00 missed). May be cancelled in rain.

On the walk over to Bukchon, duck into a traditional rice-cake house for fresh, chewy fruit mochi with a tea or coffee.

Hillside lanes of traditional hanok houses between the two palaces. It's a living neighbourhood — keep voices down on the residential alleys (signs are strict). 30–40 min of wandering, plus Samcheong-dong's cafés if you want to linger.

From Gyeongbokgung: ~10 min flat walk east along the palace wall.

Jamsil Baseball Stadium. Buy at the box office on arrival (~₩13,000–30,000). Dinner is at the game — fried chicken + beer (chimaek) inside, the proper KBO way, and join the chant-along crowd. Pick the LG (home) side for the full atmosphere; take the inflatable bat clappers if offered.

From Bukchon/Anguk: Line 3 at Anguk → Euljiro 3-ga, transfer Line 2 → Sports Complex Stn (종합운동장), Exit 5/6 (~35 min). Or taxi ~25–30 min.

Getting home: Line 2 from Sports Complex back toward the centre, change to Line 4 for Myeongdong; or just grab a taxi — late-night fares from Jamsil to Myeongdong are modest. Don't make it too late: Sunday's DMZ tour starts 07:30.
